5 New Year's rituals to do as a family

Although many do not live to see midnight, children are also looking forward to the arrival of 2024. That is why here we share 5 very simple New Year's rituals to do as a family that you can do with the little ones on December 31st during the day (except for number 5).

New Year's rituals 2024

1. Thank you

Have a family meeting and write down on a piece of paper all the things you are grateful for. 2023. You can keep that paper in a special New Year's gratitude box.

2. 2024 Goals

Make a list of goals and wishes for 2024. Take a moment as a family to read them, explain them, and say what you would like to do to achieve them.

3. All in white!

It is believed that white is a color that attracts peace and harmony , so everyone can dress in white to wait for the New Year. Even if your children will never reach midnight, it will be fun to do it during the day or mealtime.

4. All the bad things are behind us

If there were things you didn't like about 2023, you can have a 'farewell ceremony' to leave those negative things behind. You can write them down on a piece of paper, then shred it and throw it away as a symbol of closure.

5. Midnight rituals

If your children are older and will wait for midnight, they can do some of the more classic New Year rituals, such as eating 12 grapes (good luck), eating 1 tablespoon of lentils (prosperity), or walking around with a suitcase (to attract travel).
