Bath time for a newborn baby can be one of the most challenging times for moms and dads, especially if the baby cries and doesn't enjoy it. But don't worry, we want to share with you a secret that we've tried and tested, and that made our lives easier when bath time became a stressful time for the baby and for us as moms.
"My baby cries a lot at bath time," what can I do?
Simply wrap your baby in a muslin swaddle and then slowly lower him into his bath. The swaddle should be loose (not tight like the swaddle technique for sleeping ), or if you prefer, just cover him with the swaddle.
This method is also known as Swaddle bath.
Why does it work?
The tutito provides support and calm , and the change in temperature that the baby feels when touching the water is more pleasant and less abrupt.
Why muslin?
Muslin is a noble and soft material that, even when wet, feels light and pleasant on your baby's skin. Its fabric is made from an open weave of twisted threads, which makes it particularly light, perfect for this method.
When to stop doing it?
You can try it out and after a couple of weeks or a month of using it, evaluate whether your baby is already used to being in the water without the helmet and without so much crying.
Remember that with or without a tutor, you should NEVER leave your baby alone during bathing, not even for a moment.
