How to wash your baby's sleeping bag?

When washing your baby's sleeping bag, it is important to follow some recommendations to keep the garment in good condition and protect your baby's skin. We also share with you our favorite detergent to clean your child's clothes without polluting the planet.

First, what NOT to do:

Your baby's skin, especially during the first few months of life, is very delicate, so you should avoid using strong detergents and fabric softeners, which can be very harsh and irritate their skin. Also, when washing their clothes, do not mix them with the rest of the family's clothes, to avoid cross-contamination of bacteria and dirt.

6 things you should do when washing your baby's sleeping bag

  • Machine wash cold: hot water can alter the fabric, colour, elasticity and quality of the garments, and increase the risk of irritation to the baby's skin. This is especially important for cotton garments such as our Mamás Mateas sleeping bags , which require a more delicate wash.
  • Do not use bleach: it could discolor the garment and cause some type of irritation to your baby's skin.
  • Dry flat: to prevent the garment from deforming. Remember that cotton is one of the most recommended textures for babies, but it is also very delicate.
  • Spin cycle for delicate garments: just like when washing in a washing machine, it is best to choose a gentle and delicate cycle to prevent the garment from becoming deformed or damaging the fabric.
  • Wash inside out and close before washing: this is the best way to ensure that your sleeping bag is in good condition. We also recommend washing them closed, to prevent the closure from getting caught on another item of clothing in the washing machine.
  • Iron at low temperature: as this is a delicate garment.
